Well, the HW-9 project stumped me in the beginning. I have made little head way on it to this date. I have not surrendered though. I had some changes in my life come along that have placed me in a state of fluidity. I have moved and of course the shack has not been re-assembled. Once I get a handle on the move I will tackle the HW-9 with greater resolve!
I just bought a new project, a Heathkit HW-9 transceiver with the WARC bands. I have not received it yet but will soon. It needs some work but that is what a project is all about. I already own a HW-8 in pristine working condition. I have previously owned a HW-9 and always regretted selling it back in the 1980's. As this project develops I will chronicle it here on my blog. Now where did I put that soldering iron? Hmmm guess i will just follow the smoke smell. Till next time, 73

Welcome to my blog
I would like to welcome you to my blog. I am new at this blog stuff but will try to keep it simple and not too boring.
My current interests in ham radio is 2 meters and HF CW with my little Heathkit HW-8. At my current qth I need to erect an antenna. I have been considering an end fed 1/2 wave antenna for40 meters. any commets would be appreciated. In the past I have had good luck with Hustler & Butternut verticals. I guess I need to look around on some of the swap nets for another one.
Thats it for now.
